Bao Gongs, with their raised bump in the middle, known as a bell or nipple, is the Chinese version of other Southeast Asian gongs, those from Thailand, Vietnam and Java. The nipple, when struck, helps create a clear-tone. While Bao Gongs are not tuned, their notes are more obvious and clear than flat Chinese gongs.

The 7" Golden Bao Gong is a polished take on the Bao style. What is this bit of bronze? A bowl? Hat? A lost bit from one of Madonna's costumes? No, alas it is a lathed, polished Bao Gong, full of brightness and joy.

The 10" Shiny White Bao Gong is slightly different from our other lathed, Golden Bao Gongs. These gongs were originally hand-tuned, but they have since deviated from their original, perfect tuning. They sound amazing, like any of our untuned Bao Gongs, and they have a slightly different design from the rest of them.

They still create the same beautiful, clear-toned, bell-like sound as any other Bao Gongs, and we think you're gonna love them!

The 12" Mother Bao Gong is an unlathed nipple gong. The nipple focuses the tone, the baked skin holds the tone and what comes out is sound: Pure, true and good for you just like the life-nurturing milk that comes from a mother.

The 12" Prince Bao is regal, polished, unique. While the standard Bao is not flashy, this one says, "Pah! Not me, I shall dress it up!" For a clear-toned, bell-like sound with a little bit of visual flare, this gong is perfect for you.

The 14” Mother Bao Gong, when played with the mallet, produces a clear, deep bell tone that falls gently on your ears like a feather dropping onto a gentle river. These sounds can be pulled from the gong repeatedly and consistently. The 14” Bao gong is tried and true.

The 20" Galactic Bao Gong, with its unique ring pattern, opens up alternate ways of seeing things and allows you to grow in understanding. Especially to understanding what it feels like to walk around with an 20" Bao gong nestled in your arm (or hanging on a gong stand somewhere in your home or business). We have another saying in the gong game, "That's nothing to shake a stick at, it's a gong to be hit with a mallet." That makes sense, right?

This version doesn’t work
I used these 2 nights in a row. I was hoping Oracoat found a solution to the problem people like me have with the regular Xylimelts: irritation of gums. As others have noted the “sensitive” version doesn’t melt and the goo that remains can be difficult to remove. I didn’t have too much trouble after the first night. However, the second day after use, it was so hard to get the remains out, I wound up with a very sore spot from digging it out. I will toss the rest. It’s too bad this effort fizzled. I hope Oracoat will find a solution For sensitive mouths. In the b meantime, I will use the original for a few nights and then stop before repeating. The idea behind the original product is fantastic. Unfortunately this attempt to make it usable for people with sensitive mouths hasn’t worked. Please try again.

An improvement over the original product, but could be better
I had used the original Xylimelts a few years back for my night time very dry mouth. They worked very well, completely dissolving overnight, but they caused sores inside my cheeks. Recently I discovered this new version which was purported to be made without the offending ingredients. They don't work quite as well, as they don't completely dissolve, but so far haven't caused any irritation. My mouth isn't completely parched as it was without any product, so it is definitely better than nothing. There is a gel-like residue in the morning that needs to be scraped off the teeth. I think Oracoat has some more R & D to do.

These work well!
These work to keep my mouth moist for hours. The only downside is the glue stays in your mouth till you can scrape it out with your finger. I thought it would dissolve but it didn’t. Very grateful to find something that moistens my mouth for so long though. They’re easy to use too. Taste slightly sweet but otherwise I didn’t notice anything.

Xylimelts Sensitive
I was sensitive to the regular Xylimelts after a few months use. Painful gums and hives inside my lips and cheeks. The sensitive version immediately corrected the problem and I’ve been using them without issue for nearly a year. The product is a lifesaver for drymouth that occurred when I was sleeping.
