BDD CJMCU5837 WATER PRESSU SENSOCJMCU 5837 MS5837 02BA01 Water Pressure Sensor Measurement Module I2C, 3 5V, 0 TO 30 Bar Water Pressure Sensor Measurement Module Overview This pressure sensor uses the MS5837 30BA which is a new generation of high resolution pressure sensors with I2C bus interface for depth measurement systems with a water depth resolution of 2 mm. The sensor module includes a high linearity pressure sensor and an ultra low power 24 bit ADC with internal factory
Water Pressure Sensor Measurement Module
Overview
Features
- High-Resolution Depth Tracking: Delivers an RMS resolution of 0.2 mbar, allowing microcontrollers to resolve water depth changes down to 2 mm.
- Deep Water Capability: Measures absolute pressure from 0 to 30 bar, enabling deployment at depths up to 300 metres underwater.
- 24-bit Digital Output: Features an on-board ∆∑ ADC that feeds factory-calibrated, uncompensated 24-bit pressure and temperature data directly over I2C
- Ruggedized and Waterproof: Protected by an anti-magnetic stainless steel cap and a specialized dielectric gel fill to shield the internal MEMS elements from water and moisture.
Specifications
- Power: 3-5V
- Communication: I2C
- High-resolution module 0.2 mbar
- Fast conversion down to 0.5 ms
- Low power, 0.6 µA (standby < 0.1 µA at 25°C)
- Operating range: 0 to 30 bar, -20 to +85°C
Operational Notes
- Calibration Data: Every individual module contains 6 factory-calibrated coefficients stored inside its internal PROM. Your microcontroller software must pull these coefficients during initialization to accurately calculate compensated temperature and depth values.
- Submersion Constraints: While water-resistant, it is highly recommended to design an external mechanical enclosure with an O-ring (typically 1.8mm x 0.8mm) to safeguard the electrical traces on the CJMCU breakout board itself.
- Drying Cycles:, Gel-covered pressure sensors should ideally be allowed to dry periodically out of water to prevent long-term saturation drift.
These sensors use gel-covered sensing elements that must be dried for at least 2 hours each day to maintain accuracy. Long-term submersion may damage the sensor.
